About the Artist
Chelysa Owens-Cyr (Fort Peck Assiniboine & Dakota Sioux / Pasqua First Nations Cree) is an artist from Montana's Fort Peck Indian Reservation. A graduate of Fort Peck Community College and a current student at Montana State University, she is a self-taught contemporary ledger artist, beader, graphic designer, and painter. Inspired by her family, heritage, and culture, Chelysa creates artwork that reflects her personal teachings, beliefs, stories, and visions through a variety of artistic mediums.
